John M. Buckner O.D.
Dr. Buckner was born in Daytona Beach, Florida. He went to Tulane University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He worked in California with drug manufacturer Parke Davis and Co. and attended the Southern College of Optometry. After graduation, he and his wife, Ruth, went back to Florida and decided to practice and raise their three children in Gainesville. Their kids, Jennifer, Jill and John, are all graduates of the University of Florida. Dr. Buckner is a Rotarian and enjoys travel, history, photography and Gator football games. He is a life member of both the American Optometric Association (AOA) and Florida Optometric Association, and a former president of the North Florida Optometric Society (FOA).
Paul Funderburk O.D.
Dr. Funderburk is also from Florida. He went to the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry. He finished his studies at the Southern College of Optometry. He and his wife, Mary Ellen, went back to Gainesville and established a home there. They have one son, Matthew, and Sunny "The Wonder Dog". Dr. Funderburk is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoys scuba diving and tennis. He is a board-certified optometrist and a former president of the North Central Florida Optometric Society (NCFOS).
Jose R. Arnao O.D.
Dr. Jose R. Arnao has been living in Florida for more than 20 years. He went to the University of Florida and graduated with a degree in microbiology. He then attended the optometry school at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale where he was a member of the Professional National Optometric Honor Society Beta Sigma Kappa. He engaged in pro bono visits for Volunteers of Medicine in Stuart, Florida. He is our most recent doctor and will be treating and administering most disorders of the eyes, including but not limited to diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration.
